This article goes over the actions that can be performed on pages in a form template. To perform any of these actions, start by opening your form template in the Template Editor.
There are many situations where you may want to add a new page to your form template. For instance, different parts of your form may be in different PDF files, or maybe you want to add a new section to an existing form.
To add a new page or pages to your template, do the following:
- Make sure you have the Form Tab selected in the Template Editor’s preview area.
- Click the Add Page button at the top to launch the Add Page dialog box.
- Click Browse Files and select the PDF or JPG file containing your new form page(s).
- Click Upload to upload the selected PDF/JPG. The new form page(s) will appear at the bottom of your form.
To delete a page from your template:
- Click the page name in the Visible Fields section at the bottom right corner of the Template Editor.
- On Windows, hit the Delete key on your keyboard; on Mac, hit Fn + Delete.
- Click Yes in the confirmation dialog box.
Note that deleting a page will remove the fields on that page from the Template Editor’s preview area, but retain them in the Template Fields section of the Template Editor’s left sidebar. This way, you have the option of bringing those fields back into the form on a different page by dragging them in from the Template Fields section.
To change the order of pages within your form template, click the page title in the Visible Fields section at the bottom right corner of the Template Editor, then drag it up or down to its new location. The new page order will immediately be reflected in the template preview area.
The Template Editor lets you replace an existing form template page with a new one. The same functionality can be accomplished using a combination of the three actions described above -- add the new page, then delete the old one, then reorder -- but using the replace action instead saves time.
To replace a template page, do the following:
1.Make sure you have the Form Tab selected in the Template Editor’s preview area.
2.Click the Replace Page button at the top to launch the Replace Page dialog box.
3.In the Page dropdown, select the page that you want to replace. In the example below, we selected Page
4.Click Browse Files and select the PDF or JPG file containing your new form page.
5.Click Upload to upload the selected PDF/JPG. The new form page will appear in the template preview, replacing the page you selected.
The most frequent use case for this is when you need to make a small change to an existing form. For instance, suppose your multi-page form contains a job safety checklist, and you need to insert two additional items into the checklist. The best way to do this would be to make the change to your form PDF, and then use the Replace Page action to upload the PDF page with the new checklist, replacing the existing template page containing the old checklist.
